Design Road Trip: Snohomish County, Part Two

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Gatherings (1515 3rd St., Marysville, 360-659-9729)

Gatherings is well worth the trek up to Marysville. Step inside the doors and you’re immediately whisked away to what owner Carol Rochon compares to a European boutique. Rochon understands that current design trends call for a transitional feeling, a mixture of both antique and modern: purchasing an antique is like retelling an old and beloved story, but when you add a modern accessory, you add a twist to the plot.

This black crystal chandelier from Bethel International will add a touch of drama to any home, $995.

Reflect your high-end taste with this Venetian & Murano vintage glass mirror, $3,200; Bring nature inside with a silver leaf sculpture from Angelz Design, $429.

*This is the second part of a four-part series on new stores we found in Snohomish. They’re worth the drive! To see which store we featured in day one, click here or scroll down the page.
